- I bought my first car in 1978 when I was 17. It was a 74 AMC Hornet hatchback. I wish I still had it. Next was a 74 Satellite. I drove that car for years and it took me from IL to TX ans back over several years. After that there were a stream of nameless and faceless cars. In 98 I bought a 67 Mustang just before I got married. My wife just wanted to sell that car. I still have it. After my divorce I bought a 80 El Camino and last week I came across a 71 Road Runner. It has very little rust, but could still use a little body work.
