Interior back side panel question

On the front door interior there is an overhang that is about 3/4 down that goes over the top of the door panel.

The person installing my interior thinks there should be some king of overhang over the rear side panel similar to the one that is permenatly mounted on the front door that overhangs the front interior side panel.

Will someone please let me know if there is a cover for the rear side panel?

If I need them and I think I do, where can I buy them new or used? Is anyone parting a car that might have them for sale? Or does someone have the name of the used car part facility for MOPARs in Arizona?
Thank you,
Barry

Not sure what you are trying to describe. Are you talking about the stainless trim that the door panel fits into? Have you got a picture?

Yes, The molding that goes under the trim under the side window. The molding has like a lip that goes over the top of the side panel. The front door panel slides up under a part that looks similar but is a permanet fixture of the door. The whole door is painted black. Is this part suppose to be stainless steel on all cars or on the standard low budget RR painted black.

Thanks,
Barry

They are stainless, and should not be painted. I may have an extra pair of rears as they are not needed on convertibles. I will look and see what I can come up with.

Thanks for the feedback and pictures.

Are all these moldings front and back over the door panels polished stainless steel or are some painted black out of the factory in the basic model?

Does the front molding over the door panel come off as well as the back or is it incorporated into the door permenatly?

I have Desert Valley Auto sending me the back ones, but should I also paint them black or polish the front to have it look more basic stock?

There is no back arm rests but I have an extra pair and the base for the front armrest was black.

Thanks again,
Barry

I have never seen a factory car with them painted. I am sure they were all polished. They are very accessible. Once you remove the panel, you will see the screws.

See if this helps. This is a deluxe interior I don't know if there are differences. the first pic you can see one of the screws that holds the stainless, the third shows the moisture barrier or plastic is glue right over the bottom of the stainless where the screws are

Thanks again.

How do I get the molding off in the front door so that I can take it down and get the paint off the molding and polished? They painted over the molding in the front but only because it was painted black prior.

Thanks,
Barry

There are just a few Phillip's head sheet metal screws holding it as shown at the top of pic #1

No, Harold. Not so. Non-A87 post cars do not get stainless trim. They are painted to match the door - in his case these should be black.

I've answered these questions before, but apparently being the owner of the unrestored, lowest optioned A12 on the planet doesn't get me any street cred...

Thank you for the clarification. I don't know the difference between the A12s and the A87s. I just know that I have a plain Jane to the max. I'll get smarter soon, I hope.

Thanks again,
Barry

I've been saying that for years now and it just doesn't seem to happen.
