I prefer 20W50 like Valvoline VR1 with Zinc. In my experience, it helps keep things lubed better and increases oil pressure at higher temps.
These are not hard wired. They just plug into a receptacle. I do have the old style ablove my bench, so I will save the old tubes as replacements.
