`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

I am putting in AMD rear frame caps on my '70 Road Runner because the rear crossmember was toast and the guy who I bought the car from just ignored it. I put in re-located spring shackle reinforced mounts prior to buying the frame caps so I have had to grind them down a bit at the bottom of the...

    JOKES

I made a bumper sticker in Las Vegas and when I got back home I put it on my car EX-WIFE FOR SALE, TAKE OVER PAYMENTS. My ex-wife exploded and my child support went up. "Hell hath no fury like a women scorned."

No more Road for the Runner!

When I bought my '68 Road Runner in 1970 it was yellow and I called it Amana Yellow because it looked like a refrigerator color. I painted it Plumb Crazy after a while. Chrysler was going to call the color "Statuatory Grape", but didn't for obvious reasons.

    AV gas

When I was racing in the stone ages with my '68 Road Runner 383 four speed, I tried av gas but it was 140 octane. I used it one Sunday at the races and the car acted like it was towing a boat anchor. I drained it out when I got home and never tried it again. I will bet the 100LL will work if...

    Rum Runner or Roached Runner

I raced up and down Woodward in the 1960's and ended at Ted's in Pontiac for a 5 by 5. Uncle Sam ended that in 1965. I learned how to power shift and how to time the lights just right which helped when I got back into racing in the 70's. Absolutely no more street racing though. I had 15...

    1968 Sunfire yellow Road Runner

That is the same yellow "Amana Yellow???" that my '68 Road Runner was when I bought it in 1969. I have been thinking of maybe painting my '70 Road Runner in the brightest yellow that I can find. It is Hemi Orange Pearl right now but I have not been able to match the color yet. I love Road...

brand new 1965 Satellite 383 4 speed, picking up some c/s hardware at Milan Dragway, outside of Detroit. Uncle Sam called in September 1965, Joined Navy, 2 years immediate active duty. Served on 2 Battle Cruisers, last in Viet Nam. I got out in 1967, bought my "68 Road Runner in 1969, raced...

    drive train

I just finished putting in the wider tubs in my '70 Road Runner and need some input on how big of a tire I can mount in the wider tubs. I also relocated my leaf springs flush to the frame with the USCT relocation Kit. The wheel tubs were the AMD 3 1/2" wider inner tubs. I have a dana 60 that...

`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

It is a lot of work but the end is worth it I hope. I am still working on mine every single day. I have the wheel tubs welded in and need to finish off the welds. I tried sealer but is does not finish right so I am going to use a little bit of bondo to cover up my less than professional...

`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

Tell me about it. I turned 80 on February 19th and it sure limits your stamina and abilities. I had my left knee replaced and my right knee is sure sore so I pay for it at night. You know what? It is totally worth it as I sure miss racing my '68 Road Runner in the 70's and how gratifying it...

`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

I just turned 80 two weeks ago and am doing my 'I 70 Road Runner by myself. I just added the wider rear tubs and relocated the rear springs with the AMD kit. The car is up on 4 jackstands with 2 - 4" x 4" timbers on two tires abut where the tranny is just in case. I just finished welding...
