Is this 1970 Plymouth Road Runner worth saving?

That one above is definitely not my taste but s long as the owner likes it that`s all that matters and how someone spends their money is their choice. It is great to hear you drive your road runner, IMO nothing worse than a cool, fast muscle car that only sees a garage, trailer and show field.

Is this 1970 Plymouth Road Runner worth saving?

There was no "attack" intended and maybe I mistook your post as well as it seemed kind of "braggy" to me.. Sorry if it came across that way, good for you that have the resources to be able to have that built. My point was that it doesn`t NEED to cost anywhere near that much whether you do the...

Is this 1970 Plymouth Road Runner worth saving?

Looks like a very nice, high end build. Yes, anything can be restored but it doesn`t have to cost anywhere near that much. If you look at the restoration threads you can see some of us do a lot of our own work. I am restoring my road runner in my garage and plan to have less than $40k into it...

Is this 1970 Plymouth Road Runner worth saving?

I saw it on FB. Worth it is up to the individual restoring it, I put way more time and money into my lowly `72 Barracuda than it will ever be worth money wise but it has sentimental value to me. Although it could be straightened with a lot of hours on a rack IMO it be easier to just re-body that...

New project and first time builder

Only issue is it was hit so might be out of whack, putting it on a frame rack to check the measurements before replacing the rail would probably be a good idea.

`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

I would never do caps over the frame rails I would just cut out the bad sections and weld in new sections. I wasn`t even aware AMD sold caps?

`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

They were far from perfect back then. I don`t go for perfect even gaps like some do I just get them as good as factory or maybe a bit better.

`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

Edges are all welded up and ground. I had to add a bit of weld to fix the gap on the drivers side lip but otherwise happy with them. I now have to adjust the edges height wise as there are some low areas.

    Herman Smith in Athens, Texas?

What was the finders fee you offered - $500 or $1000, I don`t remember? Just kidding, glad you found it.

`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

Still working on the trunk lid. I got it back together but when I hammered the lip back over a lot of it cracked along the edge. More hours or welding and grinding!

Has anyone listed or purchased a car on Mopar Center?

FWIW Mopar Center looks like it is simply a listing site.

Original drag racing pictures of my Hemi Roadrunner

Very cool, I love seeing old photos when these cars were modified and driven on the street or dragged. I am trying to find previous owners of mine as I think it may have been drag raced at some point but so far no luck.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I`m working hard on my road runner dream hoping to have it painted and maybe cruising next year but we`ll see how that goes. :p
