Not sure if you finished with this area but to me it looks like the area around the hole is sill bent and needs to be straightened out a bit more?

    1969 Roadrunner Full Restoration

Not sure what you have for bodywork tools but if you don`t have a hammer and dolly set invest in one, even a cheap Harbor Freight set would be fine and it will make metal working easier A little heat with a propane or map gas torch will help with the stubborn areas but sometimes a relief cut is...

`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

Stripped the outside and happy to find nice clean metal. A couple hours with stud gun, body file and hammer and dolly straighted out the dings and dents.

IMO if you are going to have it dipped or sandblasted there is no need for any primer as there will very little if any surface rust forming and it will be taken off when you dip or blast anyway - save your money.

Of course green was unpopular for many years so it could have been painted a different color.

    1969 Roadrunner Full Restoration

The four speed tunnel is just tack welded on and easily removed and reused. The only rust in my floor pan was the drivers footwear but some previous owner changed it to a four speed by splicing in a 3' x 4' section from another car instead of just cutting a hole and adding the four speed hump...

    Out to dinner last night

My Barracuda isn`t that fast - basic 340 build with cast heads that runs 13.3`s in the 1/4 mile. I have got into a couple roll on contests on the highway, I have a 3.91 rear gear so top speed is not very high but that little 340 likes to rev so a roll on from 60-90/100 mph it does pretty well...

`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

Got the roof stripped and was happy to find clean metal except for a handful of small pitted areas which I hit with the bucket blaster. Shot the epoxy on it this morning.
