I am replacing my gas tank (a new one, in the box, came with the Scamp when I bought it last Fall). Currently, it's a 225 car, within the next year, I am installing a 383 / 727. I want to install a new 3/8" sending unit instead of the stock 5/16" since I will be replacing the fuel lines with 3/8 when the 383 goes in.

What can I use to connect the 3/8 sending unit to the 5/16 line in the meantime? Just use a new piece of 5/16 hose?

Or is this not a good idea?

3/8 hose and use a screw type clamp and get it good and tight on the 5/16 line, double clamp it if you don't feel good about it. Many moons ago I put a very hot 383 into a barracuda /6 car with a Holley 950 supplied by the original pickup and 5/16 line and a carter electric RV pump and never had an issue even in an all out 1/4 mile. 3/8 is better just saying.

X2 my Swinger ran 10s on a 5/16 fuel line! However I just put 3/8 in my Bee since i was there. Maybe I did it just to piss off the purists.
