383 motor / 904 trans

Here's my question..... will a 904 trans bolt up ok to a 383 motor??? Can't afford 727 trans my 904 is in great condition! smooth as silk!

depends on horsepower level of engine. 904 not usually designed for larger horsepower engines. they can be modified to hold up better but requires complete rebuild with tougher stuff. probably need to change bell housing as well. 904 usually came on small blocks.

904 will not fit, different bolt pattern to the block.
