I am looking for the wood grain dash panel that goes above the glove box for a 69 GTX. Shoot me a PM if you have one or know where to find one. Thanks!
My original was destroyed when the car caught fire and is not repairable. I have the other 2 pieces from a parts car, but it was missing the glove box piece when I bought the car. As far as converting a Sport Satellite or Coronet, it is not possible. These were made from the back side and the logo is stamped in to the plastic before the chrome/artwork/woodgrain was applied. The only thing I can think of would be to have an over sized GTX logo made in vinyl to cover up one of the other logos.
Have you contacted the people that restore them to see what they offer for service or if they redo the GTX logo? I familiar with how the trim is done as I have a '69 GTX with an 8-track that the bezel has a small crack in it and I've been searching for years for a replacement. Lots of AM GTX radio reproduction or original bezels out there but haven't found a replacement for an 8-track. The trim is basically clear plastic with logo, wood grain and black paint done on the rear, I still wonder if the resto place does the entire back complete and new? My '69 GTX
A12, I have contacted them. Because the logo is physically stamped into the plastic, it cannot be changed. They do strip everything else off when the restore these, but the core has to have the correct logo to start with.
