I need to replace the lock an ignition switch in a 69 RR, Classic Industries is showing a kit to revert back to a 68 switch, claiming its cheaper. Can anyone tell me what up with that? I need to order the whole assembly key switch and all. Is it best to buy that kit?

1969 is all by itself-I have had the same problem and I found a 1969 used one and had it cleaned and rekeyed.1968 was different it was years ago and I know there was something different but don't remember what--if you need one get back and I will look for you ,but send me a pic and part #I have a box of them with others mixed in----16964_103883999636160_6340958_n.jpg

Thanks I will, I was under the hood today checking to see if I could get power and there was none, found the switch missing out of harness at the dash, I assume that's why the lights wont work, or is that different circuit?

Dave, is it the hole (shank) that comes through the dash or the switch itself that is different?

the part that comes thru the dash...one year is smaller, and the other bigger. can't remember which year is which.

Thanks I ordered one to today from Mr. Moparts, it is the set that allows you to use the 68 switch in a 69. It was not cheap, but seems like I'm getting the lock, switch, keys, adapter and door keys for $120. My first expense on this RR
