Hey guys,

Its been a while since I have posted any pics or updates on my projects. I have been busy and it seems that it takes 3 times longer to do something. So I decided to go to Irwindale and see what will happen for the Rustyrunner. 2 passes before it broke! It appears the nipple on the water pump housing is a little rusty and the heater hose just popped off! Oh well. It did run 8.76 @ 82 mph! Incase your wondering, no its not an 8 second car....well maybe on an 1/8 mile track (which is what Irwindale is). Just for reference, my 68 Roadrunner ran 8.80s at 80 mph and at Bakersfield Raceway (which is 1/4 mile track) it ran 13.77 @ 101 mph. So I was impressed with my high mileage numbers matching Roadrunner! I think the Rustyrunner likes me! I have had it out twice now and both times it draws a crowd! A big crowd! I had a restored 68 that was black and very nice and it never drew a crowd like my underdog does! Okay enough babbling here is the car porn. And to Basketcase, I gave my buddy the camera to take some good burnout photos and this is what he came up with. Sucks because the burnouts are the most fun!

Some more with a few pics of some of the other Mopars there that night. It was real dark and I couldnt get any useable photos. I did have the only 69 Roadrunner there, now that I think about it, I had the ONLY Roadrunner there.

I know its not a blown Hemi car, which is awesome by the way and you know who you are, but I had a great time! People were amazed that it would lay 10 feet of rubber on the 1/2 shift!

Thanks for sharing. As Bob said, it looks like you had fun. And I have to say that it's a nice change to see full wheel covers on a Runner, That's something you don't see very often.

The Mustywang was hard to beat. I did manage to win one. Thats my buddies car, its fast runs 13.50s.

nice to see you having some with with her Chris! Thanks for sharing.

Probably would have gone 8.60 @ 87 mph...if it were B5... :lmao:

Good pics & a great story, Chris! Glad to see you're enjoying the old warhorse. Thanks for sharing!

Cool. I'm afraid of having to pick up broken stuff so I don't race this car. Good to see somebody still flys our flag
