8 3/4 suregrip Qs

Howdy Folks, The 8 3/4 I have is a 742 323 open unit. I have a 741 with a sure grip and will swap the ring gear to the SG case. Question is the Suregrip came without the end play buttons. I ordered a set and they come with what looks like a long rivet. Do you just install the 2 buttons then the rivet and peen the open side to hold the buttons in? Thanks.

hi ,the rivet holds the buttons . you shouldn't have to peen it over.plus if its a hardened roll pin it will break or shatter before it peens over. ronnie
