A-833 Leaking!

Morning Guys,
My A-833 is leaking from the reverse shift arm. I know there is an o-ring in there which needs to be replaced. Ive been trying to read everything I can on the subject and the concensus seems to be 50/50 as to whether or not the o-ring can be replaced without taking the tranny out and dismantling it.
Does anyone here have first hand experience in replacing this o-ring?

Its a bench job. Unless there is a short cut that reverse shaft is the last thing that comes out of the case on full disassembly . Have you looked in the service manual ?

Thanks for the input guys. Was hoping for a different response but kinda expected this one. Well, I guess I have another winter project!
