This is interesting to me as I had the opposite when I was a kid with my first RR. Went to a 440 Air Grabber on a 383. A friend of mine had a 69 Goat. We used to cruise around together, me in my 69 Roadrunner. We were showing off for some girlies and were pealing out of the Pizza shop parking lot in Sharpsburg. He was in front of me and came to a sudden stop due to traffic. I had to veer to the right to miss his back end and trashed my front end into a telephone pole. Bumper, both fenders crumpled, and my hood was toast. The car was drivable, but my car was a mess, by a miracle no damage to the radiator. The very next week I'm sitting on the stool talking with the parts guy at Pantone Auto Parts in Etna and a guy walks in and says: "Who has the 69 Roadrunner with the smashed in front end?" I turn, lower my head and raise my hand but say nothing. He said I have a totaled 69 GTX but from the rear, I'll sell you my front clip, bumper, and hood. I was in business again. I went to look at the car with my buddy who had a pick up truck, and we hauled the parts back to my house. The guy kept the 440, he had other plans for that. Long story, but the point was it had an Air Grabber Hood. We stripped my car down and everything fit like a glove. But I did ride around for a couple days without any fenders, bumper or hood, that was pretty fun.
