I own a Prius. It's a good car. I start it, I get where I need to go. It has a lot of room.
I get 50 MPG. I'm not going back to a 27 MPG Buick or Chevy.
I go somewhere of any distance with family or friends, and oddly enough
everybody wants to take my car. Everybody quickly gets over their shame
from hopping in my old lady car when it comes to saving a buck.
One of the best parts of ownership is passing or getting passed by
pickup trucks. It's as if standing on the pedal when they pass me is making a
statement. Opposite is true of the runner. Pickup guys always look or
admire when on the road. They probably wouldn't if they knew I owned
a Prius as well.

I can't see this happening in a complete sense. Heavy machinery, trucks, cars such as ours will need gasoline.
California will make their exceptions I think. I wouldn't be surprised if we moved off the oil
standard in my lifetime though, not just California. :cents:
