alternator question

just double checking if alternator is not charging, you can test by putting a jumper from the batt post to the field. that should put it in full charge, correct? this does have the 2 field terminals so should it matter which one? i tried both with no success.

I always pulled a batt cable off, if the alt is working, the car stays running. If it dies, it''s not.

well alternator was junk. got a rebuilt one through advance auto and i am back on the road. :banana: :banana:

I'm glad you brought this up Mac. It looks like I'm having the same problem with my Barracuda so now I know what to try to figure it out!
