Hello all...

One of my spring tasks is to replace the rear end center section on my 68' RR...Along with the gear.

The car currently has a 741 center section...I want to put in the correct 742, along with a 3.55 gear.

The current rear end does have a sure grip in it, that I believe can be put in the 742...Along with buying the ring and pinion...Do I need to buy the bearing kit as well ?

I will be purchasing the ring and pinion from Drive Train Specialists.

Thanks for the input !!!

You need to inspect the bearings for pitting and discoloration from heat if your setting it up. Most shops like to start new for warranty reasons

It's open now, you are probably not planning on opening it anytime soon after reinstalling it, I'd go with new bearings.
Just my 2cents.
