Cranks but only fires in run

69 Roadrunner with orange box ignition. Turn the key, and it cranks but won't fire till I let the key spring back to the run position. The ballast checks good at 1.5 ohms. After it starts, it runs great.

There are two run positions on the switch, the one while using the starter isn't working. Chase that circuit.

check the orange box I had one do that and it was the box

Mine was dong the same thing. Have been going from one thing then another on my car. All electrical. It all just started. I fix one thing then something else. I feel your pain. We just have to bare with it and move on. No cleaning all connection and using contact cleaner as well as dielectric grease. Wish you luck. Russ.

Yes, the Ecu box. I had a recent new electronic ignition conversion kit that had a bad orange ECU right out of the box. There has been several discussions on different forums about a bad run or batch of ECU's.
