I went to Autorama today at Cobo Hall in Detroit. It was pretty good this year. There were a few Roadrunners, and a lot of B bodies. No Roadrunner verts though, which was disheartening for me because I really wanted to see one in person (I never have beside mine that is being restored).

My favorite was a 69 Roadrunner brought back to life a few months ago, exactly as it was when it rolled off the line in St. Louis. It's a T7 bronze, beautiful car. I talked to Tony the owner for about an hour, he's a great guy. He gave me a ton of pointers to apply to my restoration. I told him about this site, and encouraged him to join. You guys would love all his pics and documentation. He told me he spent almost $60k on his car in the last year.

I didn't bring my good camera, and the place was packed, but I did snap a few with my cell phone.

Check em out...

Nice! What's the story on the '64 Petty car? It looks the top of a seat back in there?

It must've been a dealership model or something. I don't think it was an actual race car. It had full interior and no roll cage or anything that would resemble a racer other than the fuel cell and tires (maybe a drag car later?)
It may have had a sign near it that said something like "the car that brought Richard Petty back to Plymouth"...or that may have been the Super Bird. There were so many cool cars there, it was hard to keep them all straight.
AutoRama is a month after the Detroit International Auto Show every year, and every year, AutoRama is way better!

I read on another forum that a throttle stuck on a S10 truck while bringing the cars in and hit a General Lee clone and hurt at least one person at that show.

I heard the same thing. I guess the pro-stock S10 took out some tables too...Damn Chevy trucks!

On a good note, it seems that Bo, Luke, Cooter, Uncle Jesse, and Daisy are all safe and sound.
On the news they said that Boss Hog and Roscoe B. Coltrain were seen "toying" with the S10 before this all happened. Charges haven't been filed yet, and there may be some corruption involved considering they are the law of Hazard County, and the Detroit Police Department is always looking for a scheme.

Hell, we're so tough in Detroit that our Mayor was in jail when Kwame was here! lol

Very nice pictures
There sure are some nice Mopar's out there
I notice you have a picture of the trunk of a 70 R/T convertible
Did you happen to notice how the spare tire and jack was stored
I have yet to find the correct method for the Mystery Car
If anyone could get me a good picture I'd appreciate it
As we attend the spring shows something may show up
Thanks guy's

That is the correct location for the spare in a convertible.

Thanks Droptop
I know that is the proper location for the spare
What I need is the stacking sequence of the components of the jack
and their position under the spare tire
Thanks

Collin,
That car was awesome! No expense was spared, and it was perfect! I'm going to try to get the owner to join the site. He has the original title, build sheet, window sticker, he even has the loan application from the original owner.

I wish I would've taken a lot more pics. I was too busy talking Roadrunners...lol.

Not a fan of vinyl either. it would look good with one of the "V" code stripes on it though. (narrow/red)

I didn't see a single A12 car.
I don't even know what to estimate for total cars...Maybe 200-400????
