Difference between a 1970 and a 1971 Road Runner?

Virtually everything is different except the drivetrains... I assume your question focuses mostly on their appearance...and if so, they have NOTHING in common. Tons of pics on here, or Google is your friend.

70 was one year only style and 71 started new look for roadrunner. As acme said google will pop up a lot of pictures for you to check out

We were trying to figure out whether my cousin owned a 1970 or a 1971 Road Runner. Thanks to your advice, I have concluded it was definitely a 1971 Road Runner. Blink an eye and 48 years is gone!

Thank you very much!!

Yes the body style is totally different. If I am not wrong 71-73 where the same body style. Look at what they did to the charger it was a Cordolba looking thing and ruined it for ever. After 73 is when they did that and sales plummeted for it. Plus the Gas embargo when a gallon at 25 cents rose to over 75 cents if you could find it.

'71 & '72 share the same sheet metal, and '73 & '74 share the same sheet metal. All four years are considered second generation.

I stand corrected buddy. Knew someone would have the rite answer. Russ. Those year's I said when seeing them just where not a roadrunner to me. Looked more like the charger or some thing else. Just loved the 68 through the 70 era car. That is just me. :thumbsup2:
