Specifically, just changed out my MC and getting the car in the air FIRST time. I have the rear up and supported with floor jack under axle tube. Now my BIG question comes dare I lift the front under the "K" member using my 3-ton floor jack and a 2 x 12 wood softener? Then jack stands...I'm just wanting the car in the air enough for me to access all (4) brake bleeder screws.

Yep, jack with a block of wood under the K Frame works fine.

Jack stands can go under the lower control arms just in from the ball joints or on the frame rails where they straighten out just behind the wheels.
