My project is going to be on a 1969 Roadrunner with a 383. It's an automatic with front bench seats. The original color is the Seafoam Q5. The car sat in outside storage for more than a decade. This was my father's car and I inherited it after his death. My wife and I built a house this year (Summer 2013) and I finally have some space for it and have started working on slowly as I learn.

I am new to rebuilds and am in the middle of working on my first project. I unfortunately know close to nothing. But, have a lot of resources at my disposal.

I know this is a huge challenge. But, one that I'm pretty excited for.

Welcome to the site. lots of knowledge floating around here to help you along. And we all love pics.

Welcome to the bird's nest from CT! I've never done a restoration job but I've heard many times that you should take a lot of pictures as things come apart and to bag and label every nut and bolt on where it came from. One of the members here did a full resto on his car, maybe he'll share his experience with you.

Welcome to the forum, I restored my RR a couple years ago. It was a complete tear down. It took my son and I about 5 years to do it. Take your time, and as roadcuda said bag and tag all parts. Don't write on the bag, put a label inside the bag. It will be worth it when your done.

Welcome from Southern Indiana. Try to get your kids involved with the car as you work on it. You will make memories that will last forever. One of my biggest regrets as a father is that neither one of my boys took any interest in cars other than getting from point A to B.

Welcome from Plymouth ma just about finished with mine. It's been great. Lots of good people here with good advice.

Welcome from Florida, the restore project will be well worth it in the end, post up some pics when you have a chance, we do like car porn around here.

welcome from Ohio. Sorry to hear about dad. gld you got the car. so lets see it! we love projects. lots of great guys here and plenty of know how.

Welcome aboard, don't be afraid just go for it . Like I said in other threads its amazing what we can do when we put our minds to it . I knew next to nothing when I started two years ago and you should see our baby now . I am now researching paint systems because I plan on doing the painting myself , crazy right ! I was skeptical of my abilities at almost every stage of the build but each time things turned out better then I expected so I have full confidence that the paint job will be a success as well, even though I'm shaking in my boots. Take a look at my build so far over in the projects forum . Good luck and happy building !
Post some pictures .

Welcome. I heartily agree with the bag & tag advice when it comes to disassembly (and eventual reassembly) of your resto project. You won't regret taking pictures along the way. If I would have had the digital camera I have today back when- there would have been a whole lot more to my cars "Baby Book"!
