Started the car this afternoon to take for a cruise around and I got a fuel leak where the arrow is in the pic, nothing major about a thimble full of fuel came out where the gasket sits. The car was running like a dog and wouldn't idle at all so I took both jets out and cleaned them up with a squirt of carb cleaner,I also gently snugged up the carb to manifold bolts too.Car runs perfect now and there appears to be no leaks after driving for an hour.Would the sticking jet cause fuel to be forced out where the arrow is or do I need a new gasket.

Is the arrow pointing to where the carb mounts to the manifold? It was probably drawing in air from that location causing your air/fuel mixture to be off. Tightening the carb back on probably fix your problem. Did the engine have a rough idle before tighten the carb?

Yes,I've had sticking needle valves cause rough idle before and assumed this to be the case again.I only checked tightening the carb to manifold as an afterthought just to see if it had worked loose and maybe caused the leak.As you say this was probably my problem all along.Do they have to be a specific torque or does it not matter as long as they're tight.

The torque spec is about 7 in/lbs. for each nut. I have pasted a list of torque values I refer to often. I'm sure the fuel you use there is a lot better than what we use here in the States. Your engine bay looks pretty clean and am sure the rest of your runner looks the same.
