After a two-year “time-out” from this site I have re-joined. Have finally complete a seven (+) year restoration/build project of my 69 Road Runner. I recently discovered the fuel gauge does not work (Needle moves back and forth from empty to full)!!?? All electrical tested and is good. I‘ll be dropping the fuel tank and will replace the current “old school” fuel sender for a drop-in floatless tube sender. The tank is a custom-built, 19 galLon, stainless steel tank, designed for an in-tank fuel pump, from Ricks Tanks. There’s a recessed shelf on the upper front of the tank for the drop in pump and sender. While the tank is out I plan to cut an eight-inch square hole in the trunk, directly above the location of the pump and sender, fitted with a hinged hatch cover. That will make any future access to the pump and sender very quick and easy. I have the Dakota Digital gauge cluster, specifically designed for a 68 and 69 B-Body… where all the setups can be done from inside the cabin.
