Galen's office called today

After reading thru this mess again, what clued the "guru" in was the fact that the VIN said it was an LA built Hemi car, of which none were supposedly produced at that plant in '70...

the plant designation in the vin and the hemi motor code

plus i think he said he saw it before at spring fling with a 318 radiator and 22 inch core support , at the action it had a 26 inch hemi radiator but still had the 22 in core support . so not only did they fake the car and tags but didnt even fake it very well . Those are stupid stuff that even clueless me could spot .
 
and l'm sure hls Guruness doesn't cash any checks untlll he completes the requests........

I can attest to that, he doesn't. He held my check until the day he mailed my info out, I will give him that.
 
Took a while to read through that mess. Someone has to police this auction madness, there are some really bad people out there trying to make a quick buck. I have to admit that Galen deserves a big :thumbsup: for stepping up and calling this car out. The problem here is that some asshat produced a bad fake and got called on it. The other stuff is just is just fluff. The people who are pissed are the people who built a fake which is a federal felony!!!! FEDERAL FELONY!!!! The auction houses are just there to put people together and its really the buyers responsibility to do you DUE DILIGENCE about research for a car. If you bought a fake then you are at fault for not doing your homework. This is where the richy riches get in trouble. Those d%cks over on Moparts are just pissed about everything and think they are better than everyone else.

Which is exactly why I'd rather spend quality computer time over here with you guys...... :cheers:
 
there are a few good ones over there. the truck sectlon ls completly dlfferent. a lot like here. a core group that has fun.

I agree with you guys. I do go there often 'cause sometimes there is some some good stuff to read, and I also check out some of the other sections, but after reading things like galens I come back here to regain my sanity!
