So my Hemi is leaking oil out of the head gaskets at the oil returns. is it easier to pull the heads or drop the motor? I have never pulled the heads off a hemi in the car just wondering if there is enough room to get them off. has anyone have any tricks they want to share on this project. 1969 hemi road runner Thanks

From what I’ve seen, it can be done in the car but you have little margin for error. You’ll need to remove the brake reservoir to give yourself a little room. Overall it might be easier to drop the whole front end out the bottom.

Cant say on the Hemi but have changed a many of head gaskets in side the engine bay. I agree about pulling the brake cylinder. The exhaust manifold's might be tight. Maybe some one else has more tips on the procedure than I. Good luck

Brake cylinder is no issue once the valve cover is off. Power or manual brakes? It's been a long time since I had a power brake car.

that is the one thing they are heavy and hard to handle in the car. Good idea to have a motor lift. It sure makes it easy. When younger would crawl up in the engine bay and have my friend out side the car to hand it off to. Hope this fixes you oil leak buddy. Russ. :thumbsup2:

yes I m sure that is the fix I can see it leak at the corner at the oil returns prob use Arruzza gaskets to put her back together
