O.k. not going to waste time but thought I'd give a little backstory. I was stationed in Monterey Ca in '78-'80. I owned a '69 Road Runner and had to sell it. I promised myself I'd buy another one.

Well, I am now the proud owner of a 1969 999 Orange 383 Hi-Perf 4 spd rocket!!! I can't believe it. I retired last year and while it is somewhat finished with major drive train and interior work brought back to OEM, there's still some work to go but it is all there and original!

I'm really stoked and looking forward to reading and sharing with you folks. So from SoCal (that's on the left coast) How ya doin'?

Dan...

My first '69 back in '79

Hey great to see you back in the game!
I also have a 68 999 Orange LA car. Hope yours brings you as many smiles as mine does for me.

Just checked out your Fender Tag in your garage photos. A15 Spring Special car, and it was originally equipped with a F5 Green exterior and a F8 Green gut. Somebody went to quite a bit of trouble to change all of that out.

It was worth the effort

Wow! Thanks. I haven't gotten that far yet. I was going to hunt for the build sheet first thing when it gets here, but that is very interesting. Anything else special about it that you know by that? I truly appreciate it!

Dan ....

The A15 indicates it is a Spring Special w/o vinyl Roof. This package included chrome styled road wheels, belt mouldings, performance hood treatment, sport stripes, sure-grip differential, and Fiberglass belted RWL tires F70-14. Fender tag shows that, and the killer 2 watt AM radio... :D

Thank you. Yes I'm plodding my way through that tag but some of it is hard to read. It'll be here next Thursday so I can get a better look and maybe find the build sheet too. Can you tell my exactly what the performance hood treatment consists of? Was that the air grabber? Thanks!!!

Not the Air Grabber / N96 code. It would be the black stripes painted on the hood.

De nada. V21 Performance Hood Treatment is the wide Organisol stripes on the hood. Air Grabber was N96. You don't have that one I'm afraid.

From what I saw, most of the option codes on your tag are for the components of the A15 package.
