NASCAR has long recognized the value of using smaller diameter Mitsubishi or Honda sized connecting journals for a strong and lightweight reciprocating engine assembly. Now Mopar engine builders take advantage of this same technology by using smaller Chevy size 2.200" inch rod journals with the connecting rod side clearances widened to the correct Mopar Big Block size. Machine down your factory Mopar Big Block crankshaft rod journals to fit the popular 2.200” inch journal size or add an extra 20 cubic inches to your engine by offset grinding the crank 0.165". These rods will afford you a light weight piston pin, light weight rod journal, a connecting rod that weighs only 802.8 grams, and gain a possible 20 extra cubic inches. (note: piston pins are not included).
