I'm in the market to find a 4 speed. For a 69 roadrunner with a 383. My father had a back problem and was in the process of switching it to auto. But I drive a manual for a daily driver. And I have to have this car a 4 speed. I feel it wouldn't be right. So if anyone from Michigan know of a good place to find/buy/rebuild a 4 speed. I'm not in a hurry. Due to funds but would be nice to know places. Any help is appreciated

Try local craigslist ads. You can often find 23 spline a-833s for $250 or so. Try ebay too.

I have a manual transmission but don't know the model or anything about it if I post some pics maybe you guys can help me. I don't know much about older transmission so can you tell me what I might have. I'm new to the restoration thing.

Jose,

There is no doubt that if you post pictures of your transmission that the members here will be able to identify it for you. Please post clear pictures and post several of them from different angles.
Thanks.

if you wanna go rebuilt ready to put in, give Passon's a call. they take cores, and I had three and the reman I got for my old car only cost me $200. Brewers is good too but I've never delt with them.

Inri - I'm doing lifters on my camaro tomorrow and I kinda buried the trans but as soon as I can I'll take a bunch of pics.
Basketcase - well I planned on beefing up the trans a little. I didn't build the motor so idk what it is capable of. So rather be safe then sorry.

Joe,

Sorry to hear about your Chebby** cough cough** Just playing. Just don't let that car take up any Mopar time :)

Passon's is great for A-833s. Passon's prices are fair and his product is top notch. A stock 23 spline a-833 will more than likely work with what you've got, couple that with a solid clutch. Just make sure that the transmission gears and so forth are in good shape. Guys have used those transmissions (23 splines) on 500- 600+ hp engines! As long as you're not dropping the clutch at high rpm's and doing crazy burnouts you'll be fine.

We humbly await those pics!

Give Mancini's a call and ask for TJ.

He can help you out at a fair price.

Bahahaha. Hey my Chebby gives me problems but at least it's not a Ford! I don't plan on dropping the clutch at high rpms. But a few burnouts are always nice.

Abodybill - I heard they stopped selling Mopar parts and sadly went to Ford.

Joe,

Call and ask for TJ he has 2 barns full of Mopar parts not to far from me and not counting the rental sheds of mopar parts.
