More Fiat buyouts?

I just hope the Itialians don't pick up where the Germans left off....they used to be allies a few years years back......

I get nervous, because of the Diamler takeover (merger of equals?) Chrysler was the lowest cost highest profit margin of the big 3,there car and truck line was considered fresh and they were a styling leader. We lost Plymouth and things went down hill slowly from there. If my memory serves me right Fiat was looking at Chrysler back in the early 90s mainly for the Jeep brand,in fact at a news conferance a high level exec was asked about the merger, not hearing the question he asked on of the other execs next to him what was the question,to which the reply was,"he asked about Fix it again Tony",Fiat wasn't amused. Then again this may be a way to keep some of the company intact, just as long as they don't do to Chrysler what Renault did to AMC in the 80s.

well if they only get 35%, they shouldn't do too much harm

I think you've got that already. The first time you open that thing up you'll scrambler a lot of brains around! :jester:

This is what you're gonna see from Chrysler.

According to Chrysler's press release in 1928 the Plymouth symbolized the rugged independent spirit of the pilgrims who landed at Plymouth Rock. However according to legend Walter Chrysler was trying to break into the rural farm market which Henry Ford had a lock on at the time so he wanted a name reconizable to any buyer in that market so he told his marketing people, "that every damn farmer in America has heard of Plymouth binder twine," so next time your going through the gears please think of that long ago farmer tieing hay bales with twine thats your car's brand namesake. As for old Walt Chrysler I wonder how he'd feel about his beloved company selling the Pelosi-Fix It Again Tony special?

Is it any wonder I drive a 40 year old car and a 24 year old truck?
