Hey guys,
The way I undrstand the neutral start switch provides gnd. to starter relay and if your switch is unplugged from tranny the car would not start is this correct?

The reason I asked a Transmission guy said if switch unplugged from tranny engine would start any gear.
Mine starts in any gear plugged or unplugged.

Thanks
Don

Your transmission guy is wrong.

I am assuming we are talking about an auto trans....

Chances are your neutral switch is either for a manual trans (it has a ground connection to the case instead of the wire to the trans) or the connection has been grounded some other way.

After witnessing a near miss many years ago because of a bypassed neutral switch, I urge you to fix the neutral switch and starter relay. Forget to have the car in the right gear and not only could you mess up your car, you could hurt or kill someone. Please do it right.
