New dash Bezel

Ordered the new bezel from what use to be Herb's and still have not gotten it. Called once already and said they had not gotten it in yet. Would ship as soon as the got it. So don't know if I will be getting to much from them in the future. Russ.
 
Don’t blame you for not ordering anything else from them. Can you locate one from another source, cancel that order, and order from a new supplier?
 
Coronavirus has a lot of that Chinese-made stuff stuck in china... Probably a lot less to do with the vendor than the actual supply chain.
 
Yes it was ordered on the 19th. of January. Called this morning and they say it will ship as soon as they get it. LOL. If I had ordered from classic it would have been here by now. Was trying to save on shipping cost. Ho well live and learn.
 
Assuming that you have the original bezel and it is not cracked or broken - Why didn't you just have the original replated? About half the price, reasonable turn time (Vacuum Orna Metal did mine in 3 weeks), and then you don't have to deal with that Chinese repopped crap not fitting properly... Of course if you did not have one or it is broken then the point is moot...
 
I agree all the way around. The one that came with the car is just too bad to do any thing with. No not broken or chipped but where it made contact with the cluster is chipped and look' awful. They assured me it was on it's way and it is not Herbs any more. It is AMS now. Darn had bought from Herb's in the past a little slow on getting the part's but got them. Lesson learned. :lol:

I can and will support Vacuum Orna Metal. Their customer service is top notch. I sent them the dash bezels for my 71. The gauge bezel was perfect but the bezel for the right side had issues. One call to them, and they not only wanted the part back to make it right, they sent me a shipping voucher so I would not be out any additional $ for their error.

They all come from the same place. By the way when did Herbs change owners? I have purchased tons of parts from them over the years and prices; selection and turnaround was great. They are the only source for "exact" paint match (for interior) that I've ever been able to find. Their colors and level of gloss to flat and everything in-between has always been dead on!! They even had a color called Road Runner Horn Purple, and the black couldn't be better... perfect match for the original interior black. By the way, if looking to really do a perfect match on those metal surfaces (dash and window trim); go with Home Depot light textured spray paint in a can, followed by Herbs paint directly on top. It has the exact light texture and finish when completed.
