New to this forum and it's time to freshen up my 71 road runner. I am the second owner of a 71 383- 4 speed with air grabber road runner. Bought the car in 1994 and commuted to work with it for six years until I racked up 150,000 miles and sort of parked it. I love the interior brown/ tan but the hang around brown exterior doesn't show well. This was a very low optioned car, manual brakes, steel wheels, bucket seats and no console.img290.jpg

Welcome aboard. I think if the wheels were also bronze it would look better!

The pic I posted above is from 1994. I have 15 inch rallyes on it now. The black wheels is what we did in the 60's ,if you couldn't afford chrome reverse wheels you pulled the hubcaps and painted the rim black. Ma mopar went with black wheels on the A-12 cars.P1080511.JPG

looks good but have to ask is the passenger door been repainted. something looks off. Just asking know it is a hard thing to match paint. Unless you paint the hole car. Russ. :beep:

Long story short when I bought the car in 1994 from the original buyer she claimed the car had never been painted. However the pass side door and part of the quarter and the driver side fender had been painted some time before I bought it. I knew the paint was suspect but the body was good and as time has passed the paint is showing a lot more lacquer checking. Someday I'll do a complete repaint but I can't decide on color.

Yes it is noticeable but as long as she drives well and run's good what the heck. Paint is not cheap just ask me. Even if you do the job your self. Car look's good buddy. Russ. :kartman:Now let's have a cold one and talk about it!!!!!!!! :drinks:

I have a little experience with paint and I will probably never paint another car and I surely can't afford to pay someone to do it right. I painted my 71 barracuda and cloned it to a cuda. Started in 1996 and finished in 2011. The car came out great and has been in a few mags and won a couple best of show trophies.

The love of our car's. What we wont do to make them like we want them. Think you did a fantastic. Job on the paint job. Think the biggest thing is if you do it rite. Is to strip every thing off take out he glass and every thing to paint it. As you know if the body is straight you can sand down the car enough to get the clear off and bust the first coat of color and go at it. Of course put a sealer on it then paint away. Russ.

I like the bronze color, I went a bit farther with it and used a VW color on my ValiantDSCN0277 (1024x768).jpg

Welcome from North Dakota, love the car and the color, the Cuda is awesome.
