OEM ground / neg bat cable

Men,
My car right now is running the ground from bat to bolt behind
power steering pump / mounting bracket. Somebody broke a bolt
in the original locale on the engine.

Car has been like this for a while. Besides OEM appearance reasons,
is it safe to continue this way or should I repair the broken bolt issue
and wire it in the OEM fashion?

Seems like small potatoes question, but it is important.

As long as it is a clean ground its fine. You should also have one from the intake to the firewall.

The original locale was a front l/s intake bolt...I hope that did not break off!

From pictures I got it is also under the carb return spring bracket.

That is correct...the cable is "sandwiched" between the braket & manifold.

I know what you mean John! At our car show yesterday where we were a bit tight on space. As I was watching a guy park his Roadrunner with the armstrong type of power steering in a tight area I was very happy to know that I have power steering in my car and how easy it would be for me to park in that same space!

My 1st one had standard steering and I used to tease my dad about his power steering equipped '67 Coupe DeVille. Since I have matured I have come to appreciate his point of view. :acme:

IF, I were to respond to that, uh, statement, I would say that I walk myself to the garage, and do my own lifting. Then I can relax driving my car with the power steering!!!!!!! :lmao:

i have cars both ways and believe me that long nosed thing would be impossible to park with out power steering . As long as your rolling/moving the manual steering is easy . Stopped its a bitch to park em . :jester:
