I have a 1968 RoadRunner-383 with power steering. The Power Steering Pump is a Saginaw open pully. Power Steering Fluild is under such pressure when driving that the fluid is being forced upward and out of the Caps top Vent hole and spraying
with enough force to cover the inner hood and engine. I checked the fluid level and it is where its supposed to be when hot according to the dip stick.
I pulled the cap off when its running and it looks like a tusami churning away with a lot of force.
I have a rebuild kit ordered, but none of the seals are leaking. Steers Okay but it does make a whinning sound when running. Was going to replace the hoses thinking they were plugged somewhat. Hope its not the Steering Gear-and advice would be welcome.
Thanks in Advance Larry
