Roof bondo?

That's the factory seam where the roof panel is welded to the rear quarter panel.

That's the way they used to build them.

My car has brass in the seams where the rear quarter has been replaced by someone else. I also found rivets along the same seam where it was welded together... Must have been a quick fix to resell.

Lead was the material of choice not to say bondo wasn't added if the seam looked bad. Look at survivor 68-70 Chargers with vinyl roofs they all have a dip at that seam.

They used lead in most of the cars, but I'll bet they used some sort of plastic fill on vinyl top cars.

I say that because they used plastic to fill the gap when they put a smaller rear window insert in the Imperials.

While stripping my own cars, I've found leaded seams in painted roofs and bondo seams in vinyl roof cars, all from the factory.

my '8 Charger had bondo in the roof seam when I pulled the top off.
