rust bucket 69 gtx gets all new metal

I like how he cut away two-thirds of the original sheet metal, but left the suspension bump-stop on the driver's side... :basketcase:

VERY ambitious project, I'll give him that... But I'm kinda wondering the same thing that Bob is; why?

he has a sand blasting buisness in texas , so this is what he does for a living , it cool , he also has a 69 satelite in about the same condition he is doing the same thing to .

you can see his threads on the b body forum

see you can save just about anycar out there if you have the will and some cash LOL

I love to see a "lowly" musclecar get a proper resto. Even though most think a 440 4 barrell auto GTX as ordinary, I see a great musclecar. I give props to Donny for saving a great car.

I doubt if anyone on this site thinks that way... GTXs rock. My earlier comments were more related to the fact that less exhaustive projects are still out there...assuming that this car isn't a J code car that is really worth the effort...

That's where I was coming from also

talk about bring it back from the dead.....he should've been able to find a better donor car......way too much work :D

Donny is on FBBO and is known for this sort of thing. Everyone says he does great work.

I know it can be done, but I don't think I would let this guy work on mine. He will be lucky if this car goes down the road straight. The "jig" he had the car on was not strong enough to keep the car from flexing. Not to mention it was on pneumatic tires. Looking forward to seeing the body gaps on this car when it is done.

That's either dedication or insanity! :jester:

That is a real basketcase of a car. All I can say is more power to him for taking on that challenge!
