Hey guys,

I've been able to locate in one place or another pretty much everything I'll need to do my restoration on the 69 RR. Now that I'm starting to see what other people have paid and the condition of their cars, I think I overpaid and being inexperienced, had no clue that this restoration is looking to be at least a $20K venture. Way more than I bargained for, but I'll get her done.

Where in the hell can I find seats?? I'd love bench in front and back, but I can't find anything. I'll take junk as long as the frame is there; they are getting redone anyway.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

John

The '70 seat will work but the seat latch will be on the side not on the bottom.

Thanks. Is it safe to assume that the 68 to 70 seats from a GTX, Belevedere and Sattelite will work with my 69 RR?

yes but 68 wont have head rests , and 70's will have the high up pull up latch release
so if you want it to be factory correct stick to 69

I drove 5 hours each way nonstop to Indianapolis and met up with Droptop (Harold) to get mine. I bought all new materials from Legendary, and they're as good as new! You're right about these cars being expensive. I have about $2k into my seats after it's all said and done...get your wallet out.

Started with this....

Ended up with this....

My car has buckets but it should have a bench seat so I’ve been looking for a 69 front bench. I found them but not in California and the $$ that people were asking was out of my budget. This is the route I’m taking:
I scored a blue 68 front bench seat (no headrest) in great condition complete ($40.00. Deals are out there you just have to be patient and lucky sometimes). My interior is black so I will buy a cover from Legendary.

I bid on a pair of excellent condition headrests (black) and got them for $50.00 + $20 shipping

My plan is to follow the advice on this thread: http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?t=3166

Buy this KIT:
Product ID: 810BEN-KIT
BENCH SEAT HEAD REST REBUILD KIT from: http://www.herbsparts.com/products.asp?cat=768

And cover them with the Legendary cover.

Will this get me a factory correct front bench seat? The seat I’m using came out of a 68 Coronet.

So the 68 bench will work and to be factory correct for 69 all that is needed is the headrests?

If so then a 68 b body bench could also work for John as long as the price is right.

I have a nice front bench and rear seat set from a 68 satellite that I might be willing to part with. Where are you located? Pickup would be the only option.

Thanks Moparnut. Well, I'm actually sending the car to Pittsburgh to a buddy's body shop for resoration of the body. Not sure how far you are from there, but I may be able to intice him ($$$) to drive over and get them from you?

If not, would u be willing to ship if I can find an alternative?

What is the price of the seats and can you send pics?

Best,

John

Through some search, its its an early 69 like really built in 1968 like mine, it didn't come with headrests on my plain jane car.
