I guess too many letters for the subject line.

So I know I have to change the cam, lifters and probably bearings. What changes can I make to increase the hp/tq keeping the numbers matching engine and use pump gas? It has a 509 Mopar cam and lifter kit in it now.

Thanks,
Barry

I went with a larger than stock cam and lifter kit, although my new one is only a 488/491 split profile. I had the heads milled a bit and opened the bowls a tad. Other than that I left it alone. It made a big difference, although, now I wish I woulda went bigger. My problem though are my pistons. I have the lowly 2 bbl pistons, so my compression ratio is way down im sure.

What is the budget? That will determine what the suggestions are. You can literally spend as much as you can stand. Sky is the limit.

I went with the Hughes cam and lifters flat tappet.

Intake 1.5 .510
exhaust 1.5 .510

Intake 1.6 .544
exhaust 1.6 .544

Intake duration .050 218
Exhaust 228

I also ordered the 770 Street Avenger from Holley.

Keeping the stock intake and exhaust manifolds because I want it to look stock.

Complete front end and disc brakes on the front next.

Thank you for all the help.

Barry
