My son Joe Jr has decided to sale the Road Runner. He has it on e-bay. He is unemployed and I understand financially it is his only option but it is a Shame. It is going to be a great car, I cannot do the work! That is the only reason I sold it to him. I lost about $3K selling it to him, but he is my son! We have all the hard work done and the 4 speed is rebuilt, Interior was redone. Factory Red 4 gear cars are tough to get!

I am not trying to sell it here! Just venting!

Oh well!

Sorry to hear but it sounds as if he has his priorities in order. If he were working and just not enough to put anything toward it, well then they cost nothing to sit on but that's not the case. That is a nice combo.

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes you have to do things that you don't really want to do. Maybe some day down the road you'll be able to find another one.

I wish your son the very best.
I know first hand what he's going through
I had to sell my first Road Runner also
But eventually I was able to buy another one

That a shame, but times are rough!

I know I have threatened to sell my Coronet several times, but somehow I have been able to scrape by.

I'm not sure if it has sentimental value too, but there will be other Roadrunners when he gets back on his feet.
It's never easy to let go of something you've dreamt about completing, I know that for sure.
I'm sure it will all work out for him. Good things happen to good people, sometimes it just takes a little while...

been there done that Joe. hope he gets back to work soon and gets another one. And just cause there isn't a road runner in the garage, don't be a stranger!

That is a shame Joe,but when he get's back on his feet financially, there's nothing stopping him getting another.

I will still be here Dave. I have not had a RR for a year now but I still check in here!
Still waiting to meet with you and or Ray (Acme) some time!
I do not know if he is headed out this way this year or not!

Sorry I never seen your post yesterday or I would have answered. If I understand him correctly his reserve is real close to the bid amount now. That is giving it away. I had over $12,000 in that car a year ago. Lots of new AMD metal and it is done right.

My .02

Start the auction on Thursday. Run for 10 days.

End it during the evening, 9 PM or so was always good for me. People are home and kids aren't being put to bed just yet. They can sit and watch right at the time.

Ditch the pic of the frame. That is the least critical frame spot, yet people get in a TIZZY over it. It needs to be disclosed, but doesn't need to be in a pic unless asked for. Some people just lose their minds over that. Out of all the cars I have had, two or three had rot in that spot only, the little wing out to the rocker. Could never tell any difference and a frame cap would be cheap and effective there. I never bothered with capping one, did sell a car one time with a new cap in the box. Just didn;t get around to welding it in.

Good luck, the market is TOUGH right now.
