Tabs on repro quarter panels

I have these tabs on both sides bottom of repro quarter panel and patch panel. Look like they could be bent over and welded or these get cut. Which is correct. Can’t find a good picture of b body underside to see.

Nope they stay that way. That metal tab was on my car before taking off the old quarter's. Hope that help's. Russ.

I don't know the reason for them but I left mine. Figured they where like that on the old one's so that is the way mine is. Look's like you really deep into the resto. I did not have the rotisserie worked off a creeper. Bet it makes it easer to weld. LOL. Keep up the work your getting their. See you had to half sheet one of your wheel tub's had to do both of mine.

The wheel tub was a surprise need. There was very poor minor collision damage repair that caused that fix. The convertible wheelhouse is not available repro. Coupe is different at top. So spent hours working the top piece damage out and it’s good to go now. Used coupe lower section repro piece.

Today dropped engine and suspension at body shop to get car on ground for final gap check. Put valve covers on and sealed everything up first. Still need to paint the heads just ran out of time. It’s been 115 in phoenix all week and can’t paint in the heat.

Undercoat done.....next it turns B5 blue.

What did you coat the bottom with. Is that epoxy or a rock shield paint. Looking good.

It’s made by SEM. Think it’s called a urethane chip guard.
