I'm about to pull the original woodgrain wheel to send off to be restored. What makes a good cheap temp? Just go to Advance and pick one?

Can I just grab one off an old work van at the junkers?

I'll bet a van or truck wheel will fit. I used a Roadrunner wheel in one of my old Dodge trucks.

or there's always this option....

Well that is mighty nice! If I don't find one by the time I get back from Seattle I might just take you up on it.

By the way, WiFi on planes is AWESOME! I'm in O'Hare sitting in the plane!
