There was a reason Ma MoPar asked him to do the shakedown on the A12 prototype and then published the numbers...I don't recall anyone else knocking down 12.90s - 13.10s with those cars in 1969... Everyone else was getting 13.50s out of them...
 
From what I saw in the past, if you grind every other tooth off of the gears set that the synchro ring meshes with you get what was called a crash box A833. No clutch needed between shifts
 
when I was buying the new 4 spped for Freebird from Passions, Jamie wa telling me he can set up an 833 just like Ronnie had his. not so much fun for the street though.
