Turnaround time for GTS docs?

So just how long does it take Mr. Govier these days to send the paperwork back? Anyone use him recently? I know it takes a while, but he hasn't answered my status inquiry... "Customer Service" is not in his vocabulary! I sure wish the Marti report folks would buy him out!

I know a friend that has been waiting for over 3 years to get his cars info from MR.GURU and I use to term loooooosly to.

If your car is not a E-body or Hemi car you my die before you get what info you want.

One reason he maybe slow is to busy lifting peoples hoods at shows and taking pictures of there vin. tags or walking around at swapmeets asking to buy his books as he did me at Indy and I just laughed and told him I don't need any books when you can get it free on the Mopar web sites.

l'm still waltlng to hear back on the sheet for Freebird...and that car died ln 2007........and lt was a couple years before that l contacted hls hlghness......

I recall his last "seminar" at Carlisle a few years back ('05, I think) ... This one couple wore his ass out complaining about his pompous attitude, and the time it had taken to hear back from him on their car. It had been over a year at that point, and they were there to find out why, not just ask general hobby questions....It was in front of the whole audience! Once they opened the flood gates, many others in the audience let him have it too....Man, was he embarrased! Never saw him at Carlisle again.

His services are an asset to the hobby, his business model and poor customer service ain't....

I remember when he was a parts guy working in a Pontiac dealership and he was doing this stuff for free.

Times and egos change. Too bad... he used to be a nice guy but the bright lights and big money changed him. Then I heard his cheese may have slipped off his cracker after his wife died a couple years ago.

In the early/mid 90's, I produced a bunch of drawings for Galen, his white book covers, some interior artwork and other stuff. He was fairly prompt in payment but it kind of slacked a little as he expanded his business later. Some of the other things I was illustrating for him were becoming more involved and increasing in time needed and he was a little less available when the cost shifted to cover it. It kind of fell off from there. Contacting GTS became a mixed bag. You never knew who was going to pick up the phone. He's an asset to the hobby but hasn't driven too straight. His wife did pass away which can hit anybody hard but some of his business woes manifested themselves years before.

The last thing I did was an illustration of a 61 Chrysler Limo for the cover of a new white book in 2006. Still waiting to be paid but he hasn't published it yet. Not losing sleep over it. I own the illo and can do what I want with it but if the book appears with my Chrysler on the cover - Houston, we have a problem. :chuck:

Thanks bighook... I wonder if he were to sell the registry portion of his business to, say, Marti Reports, and keep the pocket book portion, if that would be a good move for him?
