New to the forum scene and wanted to introduce myself. Recently acquired ‘69 Road Runner in July 2025 after many years of searching.
Here’s a little backstory: My dad owned a `68 Road Runner that he drove off the lot in Northern New Jersey - Burgundy with a Black interior, 383 engine / 4-speed. That car was the only new one he ever owned, apart from family vehicles — which were technically my mom's. He bought it with his first few paychecks as a construction laborer right after graduating high school. Unfortunately, he sold it in 1992 for various reasons, including lack of driveway space, expanding family, new house build, and to help fund my private high school education. Years later he came across it again alongside a gas station, but it was stripped down for parts to rebuild a Satellite, and the owner was asking triple for just the shell. Selling that car always stung for him.
Fast forward to this past summer, found this `69 Road Runner just 8 minutes away from where I live in Western NY. My Dad and I went to check it out together, check in hand. Since he funded the purchase - my part of this project is the fit and finish updates – it needs a little love, some body panels and rockers attention from previous restorations, and just some minor tweaks to get it back to stock/showroom condition.

B5 Bright Blue Metallic with a B5 trim interior
A15 Spring Special without a vinyl top
N96 (but it’s missing, so I need to find a replacement)
V21 hood treatment,
and many more fun options.
