Door question

This is correct. The door lock hole, I think, is further forward on the 68.


Actually it is further back on the 68 model. It was moved forward in 69 because just one of the many magazine editors that got to drive the all new Road Runner wrote about how hard it was to reach the interior door lock. All I can say about that is he must have been a little bitty feller.
 
and anybody that pretended to be The Duke Boys will tell you the door lock position on '68s are way better.
 
They introduced the post in 69 for racing on the track it was required by Nass car back then or American motor sports authorities required it. Russ. :beep:
 
It was done to make the car harder to break into. It may have been a safety standard thing, like the head rests, but what do I know...
