I have always heard that the roadrunners were starting to be produced a little later in the 1968 model year, but when exactly was the production started. My 68 has a build date of September 11 1967. Would this be one of the first roadrunners produced? If so, that would be very cool. I had also read that the earliest roadrunners did not come with the sticker already installed, but instead they were put in the glove box and the owners were able to chose whether to put them on the car or not. My car does not have any of the exterior stickers on it, but does have an original glove box sticker, and from the looks of it, someone put it on the wrong side of the badge, and I am guessing the factory did not make this mistake. It doesn't even look straight.

Does your car have the original paint? If so, it is a good possibility they were not put on at the factory.

early 68's had the stickers not put on at the factory. they were put in the glove box and sent with the car.
see thread on how rr came to be. it was a compromise between two bigwigs just before production
