Is there anyone out there familiar enough with 1968 Hemi Road Runners to check one at a dealer in Daytona near the International Speedway. The link herein has some pictures. I have not checked what numbers match or do not There is a box in trunk with documentation such as Dyno report, original window sticker replacement, build sheet, Galen Govier report, pictures from restoration, original sales receipt from WI dealer to IL resident buyer, etc. I cannot tell from afar if it is as it should be or not. I decoded the data plate. I know it was not born with radial tires, the road wheels, under dash radio and strap on tach on steering wheel.
Naturally, I am willing to pay someone who is knowledgeable of these birds to give me information on the car and whether anyone knows if the stated dealer is fair and honest (I know they are a dealer so it is not like buying from an individual). Car was sold at Mecum Kissimmee in January 2017 from the well known Bobby Williams collection (you can see more about that on Mecum archive site) where over 70 cars owned by Bobby Williams were sold on one day at no reserve.

Thank you for your assistance. Let me know if anyone out there has information about the dealer or is able to give more details about the car if I decide to continue thinking about it.

Just looking at the pictures thats a nice car. Things I spotted, wrong battery no big deal, they left the undercoating off that the sticker shows it having and thats understandable. It came with steel 15" wheels it now sits on better looking but 14" wheels. After market mufflers no resonators, missing heat tube from the exhaust manifold to the choke or air cleaner one is missing. The hemi orange on the engine appears to be the shade used in 69 most people don't even know there is a difference. Quarter panels have been replaced. If it does not say numbers matching its a pretty good assumption that it is not, that is a bragging point.

Thank you for your comments. You experts have a keen eye for identifying things us novices don't see. I thought it was a good car but maybe not a great car. I read where the engine block codes will be for 66 as there were none made in 67. I know from when I had a 1961 Chrysler 300 G that so many things were similar from 1960 - 1962 and then there were many things different for each year to make it difficult to be correct.

If you are looking to see if the engine numbers match in 68 they stamped on to top edge where the transmission meets the block near the oil sending unit a partial VIN# here are a couple pics of a 68 383. DSCN5710.JPG DSCN5735.JPG
