I put a new fuel tank in my 69 roadrunner. The fuel gauge does not work properly. It didn't work right since I got the car back 13 years ago. when the tank is full it only reads about 1/4 on the gauge. I have put a new sending unit in it twice and still it doesn't work like it should. It reads the same. There have been three gauges in it since I got it back and it always reads the same. Is it a bad gauge in the dash or maybe a bad ground.

There are about a thousand threads (obviously a bit of an exaggeration on my part) on this forum discussing this particular topic - which unfortunately is all too common with these cars. Use the search function and you'll find some threads with some great details on how to isolate and fix this issue.

Like Ray said, this is a very common problem. One could write a book here on how to fix the problem. You night try doing this first, I did both ideas. https://www.69roadrunner.net/mopar/threads/fuel-sending-unit.10368/ After trying many other ones with no luck and with a recommendation from Big John I tried this, http://technoversions.com/MeterMatchHome.html It's easy to install with some set up involved, and has worked well for me so far and is fairly accurate. I just put gas in with the gauge showing just above 2/3s of a tank and took 12 gallons which is just about right on.
