Ok here it goes. After reading in my B body restoration book it is saying that if the radiator support and the trunk gutter number's match the vin number then this is a number matching car. It said the motor and trans don't have vin numbers. After changing the rear quarters and the trunk gutters should I keep a piece of the gutter with the number and stick it to the new gutter's or keep it in the glove box. :kartman: what the heck.

Sure but that makes it a numbers matching shell. The engine and Trans do have either a full or partial VIN depending on the build date. Sometime near the end of January they started partial VINs

Thanks Bob. Well cant have every thing. LOL. Had to buy a A833 trans. it was in a roadrunner. Can't say the motor is original or not. Date code is 68 but we know they made a lot of them and some ended up in 69 cars. No tag on Diff. so cant say it is what came with the car. As before the I mentioned the fender tag is gone. So Just going to build it the way I want it. Hoping it turns out as well as the one you just finished putting together. :steering:

It's a fun car then. You get to build it as you would have ordered it 49 years ago

But it is costing a lot more than it would have back in 1969. Got both bucket seat's but got charger mounting bracket's from Summit. Have to tweak them some to match the holes in floor board. Back to welding. Got to set steering wheel in and mock up the console to get the rite spacing for every thing. So may be looking for some tip's when I get into the in side trim Bob. Saving the pic's of engine bay looked really clean. :praying:

:beep:Yea RLMRLR. Glad you got a chuckle out of my comment. I need a good laugh at the cost of restoring this runner to keep me form crying. Well back to paint and body filler. Russ.
